About MeI am a licensed psychologist in the state of Colorado (PSY3687) and am an Adjunct Medical Staff in the Department of Psychiatry at Children's Hospital Colorado. I was born and raised outside of New York City, then earned my B.A. in Clinical Psychology from Tufts University and my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from New York University. I completed my training at UC Berkeley and the University of Pittsburgh. Since 2000, I have worked in hospital settings, private practice, university counseling centers, and research institutes including McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School; UC Davis; UCSF School of Medicine; CU Boulder and the University of Denver. After pursuing training around the country, I am happy to call Denver home. In my free time, I enjoy being out in nature, spending time with family, reading a good book, traveling, and catching up with friends.
I am an active member of Postpartum Support International and The International Marce Society for Perinatal Mental Health. I also volunteer my time to run a weekly postpartum group at Belly Bliss' Stanley Marketplace location, on the border of Central Park and Aurora. |
Therapeutic Approach |
I have pursued training at several renowned institutions and developed expertise in a variety of therapeutic approaches. Primarily, I integrate insight-oriented approaches with tangible, skill-based approaches that have been thoroughly researched and shown to be effective. I also work with individuals to recognize and capitalize on their strengths, while helping them cultivate important relationship and coping skills. I recognize the many different contexts within which the individual exists, and the different roles they may play in their day to day life. I tailor interventions based on the individual's unique experience, so that they are appropriate and relevant. I value diversity and am dedicated to providing care that reflects and honors the potential multicultural factors impacting your life.
I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment in which you feel supported and accepted throughout the process of growth and change. I offer a calm, compassionate, non-judgmental presence that I hope will allow you to be honest with yourself and in therapy. As we work together, I will listen attentively and take an active role providing insights and interventions that are clear, effective, and tailored to your situation. |
